How do you get a job at a Chanel or Dior boutique?

I've always wondered because it seems too easy just to walk in and ask for an application. I've tried looking on the websites but on Chanel they didn't have any for Las Vegas and I couldn't find a career or job opportunity section on Dior's site. If anyone knows or has had a job at any high end boutique like that please let me know how you got the job. Thanks!|||To be honest, they are VERY picky. Not only do you have to be 'pretty', you have to have a 'look'. You basically have to look just as good as the models in the adverts.

you have to convey the image that Chanel or Dior portrays.

Plus, they prefer if you had a strong background in high end retail.

It's one thing to be the girl who worked at Macy's for 2 years (or whatever) but they want to know that you can handle the clientele.

High end is 155 million % customer service. and you have a client book. So you have to do more than stand there and greet customers a-la Wet Seal.

They don't offer store line positions online because each individual store manager wants to hire you, and YES they are judging the HECK out of you when you come in and ask for an application and when you turn it back in.

Most of the stylist that work in those stores heard about the position from the 'inside'...word of mouth.

as a walk in, your CV has to be ON POINT for them to even consider you...or else it's in the trash.

I'm not sure your age, but they don't screw around with teens.

SO I say try to get an internship through your college (assuming you go to college). you'll be the butt girl, but that's the only way you'll get in if you don't have the luxury background.

However, there is always that little thing called luck....so good luck!|||First off, do you know someone who already works there, or at a branch store? If so, find out how they got hired. And definitely use them as a reference if you're on good terms.

If not, walk in to the one where you want to work, observe what the current employees are wearing and how they treat customers and each other. If you still like what you see, next up is a phone call.

Get the phone number of the boutique, call and ask to speak to the hiring manager. Find out what you need to do to get hired. Show interest, but let him/her do the talking. Be sure to listen carefully. Make an appointment to come in and complete an application. Be sure to bring your resume (make sure it's professional -- accurate and beautifully formatted). Treat EVERYONE w/ courtesy and respect. And be sure to look the part -- dress according to what you observed on your previous visit/s.

Even if they're not hiring right away, they'll remember you. Your interest, drive and friendliness will help you much along the way. Be sure to ask the manager to keep your information on file so that when a position becomes open, you'll be the first one they call.

Lastly, follow up.

Send a nice thank you letter after your meeting. Mention anyone you met and express your keen interest in working there. Continue to visit the boutique regularly, every 2 months or so to inquire if they're hiring. Hang in there. Your efforts WILL pay off.|||They normally have a head office or recruitment office somewhere. I suggest be confident enough to walk to the boutique ask for the manager and talk to her/him personally about your interest in applying for the job. It's easy. Through that, you would be able to let them see and feel that you really interested to get a job. who knows? maybe the manager would be so impressed with you the she/he will recommend you for the job personally. You can do it!!! Go Gurl! believe in yourself.|||You um ... Apply?

Or drop off a resume?

Most places usually only hire when they are actually hiring.

So look out for that.
