What are some links where I can find info about the Coco Chanel clothing controversy?

I'm researching the whole Coco Chanel controversy with my friends for National History Day. It's when women had to cover their ankles and wear long dresses, and Coco Chanel cut her dress to knee-length and there was a huge controversy. It might not be exactly like that, since my friend was the one who chose the topic. What are some links that I can find info about it?|||Chanel was known for being different and unique. It bothered her when she went to polo games and women dressed up in large lace gowns with overdone hats.Chanel believed that women should have the right to choose what to wear, and so she wore menswear. When she opened up Chanel, clients loved the fact that her women's garments were structured like those of men and made out of the material used for mens clothing. Due to Chanel's menswear inspired look, jersey became an extremely popular fabric. Other than its cheap cost, jersey helped her achieve the menswear look . It angered her that women had to wear costume like dresses, and thought that a lady should be minimalistic, classic, and chic. She cut the skirts to knee length, gut the sleeves to make them shorter, and simplified dresses and added a menswear touch to them. Considering that this was uncommon at the time, people were angered by this. After gaining more clients and popularity, Chanel's new style spread through france and boomed her business.
